C A R D T Y P E S

DUELIST

Ronin, Samurai, Gangsters, Bounty Hunter, Foreigners, etc for hire. - Duelers are divide into three groups: Regular, Support, and Elites. Since players are put in the position as mangers of the duelers, Duelers loyalty act like heath. if loyalty <= zero put dueler in discard pile. a duelers power is how much damage it deals in combat. Armor is how much damage must be dealt to a dueler before it starts effecting loyalty. Speed is a determining factor during combat to see who strikes first. Combo directly determines how many skill cards can be attach to a dueler.(See Skill Card for more detail). the Price is the amount of yen payed to hire.
As of right now Rank doesn't matter unless you make Elite. these Elite Duelists are powerful in both stats and abilities, however they're quite expensive to hire. Support character are NPC/Pets/other characters that present during a duel (i.e. Gokiburi thugs)
Elite extras
- Elite Duelist cards can only be made form actual Elite duelists in SDL.
- Elite Duelists can have one Base Stat that exceeds the 10 points.

ITEMS

- Item Card include Weapons, Armor, Trinkets, Food, Drinks, misc treasure, Banners, etc.
- Items Can be discarded in exchange for Yen. After discarding you can't get it back without card assistance
- Only 2 weapon items (or shield) can be actively equipped on a duelist at a time (people only have to arms) although any number of Weapon can be inactively equipped.

SKILLS

- SP(Skill Points)ranges from 1 to 10. you can put as many skill cards on a Duelist.
- SP depends on the how powerful the skill card is. the only exception is when it a good skill with a low SP
- When using skill cards, SP is subtracted from the duelist's combo stat. Skill cards can't be used if the duelist's combo is 0 or the cost is great than the combo point as duelist has.

LOCATIONS

- Location Cards incorporates shops, dueling ground,and even Seasons.
- these cards can either put you at an advantage or disadvantage during combat.
- Shops are usually non-combat. Some uses include increase Duelists stats, search for other cards(except for shops), and other possibilities.
- some Locations can be set aside and sold to other players for it price thus increasing your yen (this don't mean that player owns the card)

EVENTS

- Event Cards act much like Skill Cards and Location cards except they can be played at anytime, but event cards only stay in play until their effect resolve.
-- Can Increase Stats
-- Search for other Cards
-- Access your Discard Pile
- If an event card has a team affinity it boost Duelist's loyalty with the same Affinity by 1
- Event Cards can turn of any the tide battle(i.e. Death Match)

Zones
Photobucket
Deck
your draw pile. It’s kept face down, and the cards stay in the order they were in at the beginning of the game. No one can look at the cards in your library, but you can know how many cards are in each player’s library. Each player has his or her own library.
Hand
When you draw cards, they go to your hand, just as in most other card games. No one except you can look at the cards in your hand. Each player has his or her own hand.
In Play
You start the game with nothing in play, but this is where the action is going to be. On each of your turns, you can play a duelists, items, skills, and locations also come into play after they resolve. You can arrange your permanents however you want (we recommend putting lands closest to you), but your opponent must be able to see all of them they’re tapped. This zone is shared by both players.
Commons Zone
the subsection of "In Play" where duelists can exist.
Combat Zone
the subsection of "In Play" where duelists fight each other
Discard Pile
Your event card go to directly to your discard pile when they resolve. Your other cards go to your discard pile when they’re discarded, abandon you, countered, or put there by an effect. In addition, your duelists go to your discard if the damage they’re dealt is equal to or greater than their loyalty, or if their loyalty is reduced to 0 or less. Cards in your discard pile are always face up and anyone can look at them at any time. Each player has his or her own discard pile.
The Stack
cards and abilities exist on the stack. They wait there to resolve until both players choose not to play any new cards or abilities.
Then the last card or ability that was put onto the stack resolves, and players get a chance to play cards and abilities again.
(You’ll learn more about playing cards and abilities in the next section.) This zone is shared by both players.
Removed from the Game
Some cards and abilities say that they remove cards from the game. Just put those cards off to the side. Cards removed from the game are normally face up. This zone is shared by both players.

:icontsukikage-ryu:
Skill Cards now have a point value. Now, will they still also require Yen to be equipped to a duelist (probably)? ALso, what if a duelist has his skill points essentially 'used up' and wants to equip a new skill?
For example:
Ryu has Combo-5
He has Lunar Cry Slash (Skill Card-4 points) attached.

He wants to attach Kamaitachi Cut (Skill Card- 5 points)

My question is can I discard Lunar Cry Slash to make room for Kamaitachi Cut? Or am I stuck with L.C. Slash once it's attached?
:iconsamuraiofthegrove:
yes skills are trained abilities. training you pay for.

you can discard, but i think it would be a waste to have your dueler forget. i might institute a tap function when activate the skills

:icontsukikage-ryu:
well, since there's a limit on how many skills a duelist can attach, I might want an opportunity to drop low level skills for a larger, more expensive one later in the game.
:iconsamuraiofthegrove:
well then since you put it that way then yes i would agree with you

:icontenn1502:
So when compared to Magic:

Duelist = Creature

Item = Artifact

Skill = Enchant Creature

Location = Enchantment

Event = Instant

Am I correct?
